Discovering Hope in 2023

The Encouraging Possibilities of Finding Unexpected Comfort and Renewed Strength in Difficult Times
Hope in the resurrection
When we think about hope, what comes to mind? For many of us, hope is something that we hold onto when things are tough. It's the light at the end of the tunnel, the belief that better days are ahead. Hope is what gets us through difficult times. But what if we looked at hope in a different way? What if instead of being something we turn to when things are tough, hope was something that defined our lives? That's what the resurrection is all about. The resurrection is a reminder that no matter what happens in this life, God has promised us eternal and abundant life that starts now. It's a sign of hope for all who believe. And it's a powerful reminder that nothing – not even death – can separate us from God's love. When we understand the true meaning of hope, it changes everything. So whatever you're facing today, remember that you have hope – because Christ is risen!
In John 11:38-55, we see Jesus bringing hope to His disciples
In John 11:38-55, we gain an amazing insight into the compassionate heart of Jesus for His disciples. Even in a moment of deep sorrow and despair, He finds a way to provide them with hope. With one moment of divine power from Jesus, everything changed - from one of grief to one of celebration as He performs the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. Through this passage, we can be encouraged to look for God’s love and hope even in times of trial and trouble; if He could bring life out of death, then surely He can bring brightness out of our darkness too.
Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and He gives us hope for eternal life
Faith is a powerful force, and it can bring us hope in the darkest moments. As we read in John 11:38-55, Jesus reminds us that He is the resurrection and the life, and by simply believing in Him we have life with Him forever. Through prayer, we can find renewed comfort in our Lord no matter what kind of life circumstances we face. By clinging to faith, Jesus helps give us strength to carry on though all sorts of tribulations!
Hope in the resurrection is a source of strength and comfort for Christians
Even in times of darkness and despair, knowing that our Lord has been triumphant in His victory over death brings us a sense of strength and comfort invincible to any other kind of solace. So don't be discouraged; instead, grab a hold of this hope and feel a surge of resilience as you confidently rest in the knowledge that there is no trial too great to keep you from God's love.
As we reflect on Jesus' miraculous triumph over death in the resurrection, we can be reminded of God's ultimate reign over all of creation. Despite how frightening and chaotic this world can seem, with its raging conflict, and tragedies, the resurrection is a promise that God will always ultimately right all wrongs and bring light to every darkness. Even when it seems that evil is taking its victory lap yet again, remember that God's love is unending and His power cannot be conquered--the ultimate outcome of every situation has already been assured by His grace and mercy. We just need to trust Him and take solace in that powerful truth.
We all will face death one day, but because of Jesus, we don't have to face it alone. We don’t face life alone either. Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and He gives us hope through a transformed life. Hope in the resurrection is a source of strength and comfort for Christians in this world. As Christians, we can cling to hope in Christ knowing that no matter what happens in this life, God is with us.
