How to care for your soul.
Take a Deep Breath
No really. Take a deep breath.
Inhale through your nose for 5 counts... from your stomach through your chest.
Hold for 5 counts.
Exhale through your mouth for 5 counts.
Hold for 5 counts.
That's a deep breath. More accurately it's a box breath. And it's really good to do on a regular basis. It helps to clear your mind. Lower your anxiety. Lower your blood pressure. And focus..on what ever you need to focus on!
There's a prayer method that helps us focus on our breath known as a "Breath Prayer." You inhale and think of a phrase and exhale and think of another.
In the photo above, the breath prayer is:
"Inhale His grace;
Exhale your craziness."
How wonderful would that be? It's possible. But it takes time. It takes practice. And it takes just a few minutes of slowing down. It reconnects us to our faith. Faith is like breathing again when you never knew you stopped. So breathe deeply. Each quiet moment prepares us for moments of #HolyMischief.
This video is another demonstration of a breath prayer.
Try to incorporate a breath prayer into your daily or weekly routine. It is a great practice that you can do simply to connect to God.

Genesis 2:7 - New International Version
Then the Lord God formed a man[a] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
"In souls filled with love, the desire to please God is continual prayer." - John Wesley.
In my busy life, I fogey to really breathe all of the time. I like this focused way of connecting to God. It will be especially great with my teenager and my classroom.
Breathe deeply friend!
