Living like ghosts

faith, prayer, #holymischief

Remember when...

Remember when we used to talk on the phone so long that our neck hurt?
When we spent hours talking to our best friend or crush?
When we used to yell at other members of the house for inturupting because it was one shared land line?

Remember when we used to talk in person that way too?
When we would dream together and discuss things that bring us joy and things that we need to vent about?

Now we text.
Sure the text messages can be a conversation.
But instead of verbally process our dreams and dislikes,
We present them as statements. With finality.
And we ghost people whose statements differ.
We’ve lost the impact that a back and forth has.
We’ve lost the processing that comes with external thinking.
We’ve lost a key vehicle for coming to an agreement or appreciating the differences between us.

We’ve lost a lot.
We can get it back.
But it will take some work.
And we’ve got to be willing to do it.
We don’t need to live like ghosts.
We need to live abundantly.
Sitting down together and having conversation is a big part of that.

Luke 24:39- Look at my hands and my feet; see that it is I myself. Touch me and see, for a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
