The Good Chocolate

Be sure to savor it.
A friend gifted me chocolate from Peru. I haven’t had it yet. I’m saving it for a time I can savor it. I also have some Hershey’s Kisses on my desk. I got some for my mom for her birthday and had some leftovers. I’m not saving those. They will be eaten quickly. I like Hershey’s Kisses. They aren’t my favorite of the chocolate genre. Reeses or Ghirardelli with Sea Salt and Caramel fit that nomination. But I’ve had Hershey’s Kisses every year since I can remember. They are always there. I often take them for granted.
I’ve never had chocolate from Peru. I might never again. I want to remember with every taste bud what the experience is like. If it's a good one, I’ve got a memory and a recommendation. If it's a bad one, I’ve got a warning for others.
If it’s an incredible experience, I’ll seek out ways to experience it again. Savoring each one until I find a way to make it happen more often.
Savor the things that matter. Enjoy the experience. And if it is one worth repeating, find ways to make it a habit. Your life will be more flavorful because you did.
Update: I finally ate the Peruvian chocolate. And it was spectacular!
