In the waiting

The waiting place…
Dr. Suess wasn’t wrong.
The waiting place is often dark and lonely.
It seems to drag on and on and on.
Waiting to hear.
Waiting to go.
Waiting for a turn.
Waiting for what’s next.
It isn’t easy.
But in the waiting, God transforms us.
We wait with prayer.
We invite others to pray and wait with us.
We build connections.
We prepare for what’s next.
We strengthen ourselves and allow God to strengthen us too.
It isn’t a bad place.
It isn’t a good place.
It’s a place we all go through multiple times.
And we shouldn’t fear it.
Because at some point we realize that we are so much better having gone through it and emerging stronger on the other side.
Until Everyone Hears,
Dr. K
Psalm 130:5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
I’m in the waiting place now. But I can’t prepRe for what’s next because I don’t KNOW. What’s next…. So I just wait and pray to know what’s next.
Lent is a waiting practice. Praying for you to know soon!
I just finished a 28 Day study on Dynamite Prayer in which one of the readings refers to wait training as opposed to weight training. I too am waiting for some council from God as to what He wants me to do or be in the next phase of my life here on earth. I don’t wait very well, but I’m trusting in Him while I wait.
I just got that book too!!!
Well said. I can’t help but think of Isaiah 30:18 after reading this. “Therefore the Lord is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the Lord is a just God. All who wait patiently for Him are happy.”
Thanks for sharing that verse! So comforting.
