Remember

When we get to Christmas, it’s hard to forget where we are.  We’ve been in preparation and the time is here. 

We remember past Christmases and the wonder of our childhood. 

We remember more recent Christmases and the loved ones that we can’t celebrate with anymore.

We remember all the things on our to do list that don’t need to  get done now.

We remember that we said we were going to scale back this year.

We remember how much we hate that one Christmas song or movie and can’t wait for that part of the season to be over.

We remember to check on our neighbor.

We remember that today a light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it.

We remember we are thankful. Thankful for our God. Thankful for our family. Thankful for this moment.

It’s hard to forget today. May we always have signs to help us remember.
