MOG – Day 4 Visiting the Sick

Usually when I’m sick I’m in no position to be around other people. But stay in that state of mind for too long and you begin to loose touch with the rest of humanity. While connectivity via TV, Radio, Facebook, texting etc all help to keep us connected during illness, there are some who are so ill that even these don’t help. And no electronic device is a substitute for a human being.

Which is why visiting someone who is sick is important. This is one of those means of grace that we don’t do for us. We do this for others.

If you are like me, you don’t want to be around sick people. Hospitals and sick people are full of germs and just unhappy places to be (with the exception of the maternity ward). But sick people need to hear from you.  Their families need a break. Their nurses and doctors need to know that their patient isn’t just another chart but is a real person.

So go out and visit! God will be there in your visit and you will probably learn something too.

Until Everyone Hears,

What are your thoughts?
