Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we’re proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, “Light up the darkness!” and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful. – 2 Corinthians 4:5-6 (The Message)
From the moment I was born, the world has been focused on me. Everything I’ve ever done is important to what I d,o so therefore I must be important to everyone else. And if I’m important to everyone else then of course everything must be all about me.
It is shocking at times to hear otherwise. I went for a walk the other day and was greeted warmly along the way by a 9 year old who said, “Hey Shane’s Mom!” Of course the world does not revolve around me and even though I’m pretty important to my world, I know with sadness that it will continue to function long after I’m gone.
The question I pose is – what does our world revolve around? I’m not asking about physical science, but rather what makes our world, our society tick? Is it perhaps:
-Money: Does the greed that we have for money matter most? It certainly seems to be a large contributor.
-Wisdom: Does the more I know, mirror my greatness or power?
-Love: If we cease to have love, does our world end or just take on a new form?
-God: Is it something Divine guiding us throughout our journey and if so how much interaction can we depend on and can we conversely give God the blame?
Every time I learn something new I realize how little I know so I won’t pretend to know the great answers to the questions of the universe here. All I know is that I have experienced that there is a God active in my life. And for some strange reason, I am a messenger for that good news.
So I hope you keep listening to me, but what I hope you keep hearing is God.
Until Everyone Hears,
